But...first here are some answers to Frequently Asked Questions I get (do read them, because if you ask me the same thing I might not take time to respond to you).
1.) I do not have any work to submit free of cost to journals/websites/anthologies. REASON: I work almost exclusively on long pieces, and the few short pieces and excerpts I do publish I must do for cash to subsidize my work so that I can buy time to write more.
2.) I am not available for free readings/appearances/panels. REASON: I do events, but only a few a year, and only when I am compensated at a professional rate, in order to buy myself more time to write and make up for the time it takes to do the events themselves.
3.) I do not have time to read submissions. REASON: I barely have time to read my own work. I am available as an instructor both at the University of Houston Creative Writing Program and usually at other summer retreats. If you would like to be my summer student, contact me in the spring to ask which workshop I will teach at that year.
