This is from a photo shoot for Shout, done in a hanger on Long Island. I’m smiling because it was freezing and the photographer said it would be over soon.

Shout folded before the issue could come out, but I got to use the picture for Hunting’s book jacket.

This is me with Marita Golden, the night I won the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award. Marita is the driving creative force behind the Hurston/Wright Foundation, which does great work. Truly a Lady of the Niggerati.

The Mullah of Mulattos is attacked by all three  of his offspring. Tragic.
